which one's the pen tool?

A tool that looks like...a pen XD
It's on the tool bar if you use PS or PT
It allows you to trace stuff pretty easily
You can search up some tutorials on that XDD

Then did you trace by hand (like how you would outline on paper) or use some other tool?
Because I'm horrible at tracing and I dislike pen tool (that's why my lines are always scratchy
So I want to know if you use a technic I don't know or what XD

I'm still learning how to use the sketch pad so i have to do everything the slow way= =
but yeah i trace by hand
usually with paint brush first and then erase the parts that i messed up on
